Veris Mapping is a technique for mapping soil for use in soil testing

Key Benefits

Text Box: Veris Values
Values are a measure of Soil Conductivity.
The red and orange areas show lower values and are lighter sandy soils.
Soils in the Yellow and Green areas are the most productive soils in this field
Higher OM.
Higher clay content soils.
As we get into the blues and violets we start running in Saline soils.
•Surface & Deep are Normalized
•Looks at entire 30” profile.
•Narrow zones for sampling.
•Note difference in NRCS map versus Veris.
•Soil type maps were created based on dead reckoning and usually correlated to topography changes.
•Large inconsistencies in accuracy of maps.
–Different people doing working in different parts of a twp.
–One person calls it sandy loam and the other loamy sand.
